Acceptance

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and Mathieu Durand, the operator of Ashkeep. By creating a Player Companion account or using its features, you confirm that you have read these terms and the Privacy Policy and that you accept these terms.

If you do not accept them, you may still view the public website, but you must not create or use a Player Companion account.

About Ashkeep

Ashkeep is a free, personal and non-commercial roleplay project operated independently from Chains of Hyboria and its staff. The Player Companion supports applications, characters, letters and shared roleplay systems for the Ashkeep community.

Ashkeep is not affiliated with or endorsed by Funcom, Conan Exiles, Conan Properties International or their respective licensors.

Eligibility and accounts

Ashkeep and the Player Companion are intended only for people aged 18 or older. By applying or creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 and legally able to accept these terms.

Discord is the only sign-in method. You are responsible for maintaining control of the Discord account connected to Ashkeep and for the activity performed through your Companion account. You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person, share access or attempt to create accounts for someone else.

Tell us promptly at contact@ashkeeprp.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Applications and membership

Submitting the questionnaire expresses your interest in joining the clan. It does not guarantee acceptance, a particular role or continued membership. Applications are reviewed manually by Mathieu Durand or another Ashkeep administrator.

Membership decisions consider whether the project matches a player's expectations, availability and preferred style of roleplay. Please answer honestly and do not include sensitive personal information that Ashkeep does not need.

Community conduct

Use Ashkeep in a way that respects other players, their consent and their boundaries. You must follow the community rules communicated by the Ashkeep team and any applicable rules of Chains of Hyboria.

Harassment, threats, hate speech, impersonation, unlawful material, unauthorized access, attempts to bypass security or moderation, deliberate disruption and misuse of another person's content are prohibited. Mature themes in roleplay never remove the need for clear out-of-character consent.

Your content

You retain the rights you hold in the characters, writing, images and files you submit. You are responsible for that material and must have the rights and permissions needed to share it with the intended players.

You grant Ashkeep a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, process and display your material only as needed to operate, secure and moderate the Companion and its shared roleplay features. This permission ends when the material or associated account is deleted from active systems. Residual backup copies may remain for the limited period described in the Privacy Policy.

Do not upload material that infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights. We may remove material when reasonably necessary to respond to a report, protect another person or comply with the law.

Ashkeep content

The source code and original Ashkeep writing are made available under the licenses stated in the project repository and Legal Notice. Those licenses do not cover player contributions, game screenshots, third-party artwork, trademarks or other material owned by third parties.

Access to the Companion does not grant permission to extract private community records, republish another player's material or use Ashkeep's systems in a way that exceeds the applicable license.

Moderation and termination

Ashkeep administrators may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account or end membership when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect players, preserve the roleplay environment or secure the service. Serious or urgent risks may require immediate action.

You may stop using Ashkeep at any time. Deleting your Companion account removes its personal data and associated content from active systems immediately, subject to the temporary backups described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

Ashkeep is provided free of charge as a community project. We may maintain, change, suspend or discontinue features when needed. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every feature will always remain available.

We may update these terms when the service, community rules or applicable law changes. The effective date will identify the current version. Material changes affecting members will also be announced through the Companion or the Ashkeep Community Discord before they take effect where reasonably possible.

Third-party services

Discord, Chains of Hyboria, Cloudflare, Vercel and Scaleway operate under their own terms and policies. Ashkeep does not control their independent availability or moderation. Ashkeep remains responsible for its own processing of personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Responsibility

You use the website and Companion at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, Ashkeep is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of opportunity, loss of data caused by a third-party service or disputes between players. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited, including responsibility for fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what personal data Ashkeep processes, why it is used, how long it is retained and how to exercise your rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. This choice does not deprive you of any mandatory protections that apply under the law of your country of residence. Before beginning formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
